the temple

i had a dream several months ago in which i flew to the moon... i was heading straight for it, and then the next thing i knew, i had somehow appeared in the middle of a temple. it was full of a group of men in orange robes. i felt that they were priests, or monks, and i had the distinct impression that i had interrupted them, had infringed on their privacy... as soon as they saw me, they came running after me, chasing me out of their temple.

****
the other night i was lucid for a long time in the middle of the night, but for whatever reason, could not bring anything but a piece of the dream back with me....

i remember flying through the night sky on some sort of bizarre futuristic moped. i was flying through strange, leafy, dark trees. i was following someone who i felt was my teacher. i could see him up ahead of me, in an orange robe. he was a bald asian man. i couldn't tell if he knew that i was following him or not. i remember feeling somewhat guilty about following him, and vaguely wondering how the others in the group felt about what i was doing - but i couldn't stop myself. i had to know where he was going.
we flew through the leaves of tress which were either extremely tall, or else floating in the air. i burst through some branches and then moon shone out in front of me, huge and luminous. something odd happened at that moment, there was a wobble and suddenly i couldn't orient myself in space. i got confused about which was was up and which was down, and was i actually seeing the moon, or was it just a reflection in the water i was sure was below it?
i woke up.

* * *
when i woke, i was sure that the man was one of the monks / priests i had seen in my dream months ago. the feeling was just the same, the appearance was the same, and even the correspondence with the moon matched. since i don't know any asian monks in my waking life, and don't really read or spend time learning about them, it seemed like something i was supposed to look into. that afternoon, i tried to meet with the man by going into a deep meditation and recalling the dream. now, i could be wrong, but i figure these meditations are movements of the AP and should also be properly categorized as dreams - but i do want to reiterate here that this information did not come from lucid dreaming - but from my meditation.

i see in front of me a dark doorway, framed by a wooden arch with an ornately carved dragon head centered in it. the space beyond is pitch black. i walk through the archway and the teacher is there, sitting on the floor in his orange robes. he doesn't say anything, but gestures for my hands. he stands and leads me deeper into the darkness, through other rooms or spaces that have different scenes behind them. one is like a garden or something - it is outside. and then, he brings me into a temple. the light surprises me, and i see that the room is full of bald, apparently asian men in orange robes, sitting on the floor. they are chanting. all around me and through me i can hear / feel one vibration: "OM". it is a melodic, deep noise. it seems to go one forever. they are chanting in unison. my attention is directed upwards, to the ceiling of the place. it appears that we are in a huge, cone-shaped temple, with little arches reaching off the walls to hold at the very peak of the cone a giant crystal. i have the sense that the monks create the vibration and the vibration powers the crystal. the crystal sort of fragments it and radiates the vibration out everywhere, wherever we are... who knows? i want to be pulled upward by the chant. there are other men walking around, attending to small details or moving to other parts of the temple. i know somehow that these monks chant in shifts, so that the vibration never stops. i am not sure what i ought to do, though it's clear for the first time that they are inviting me here, as they brought me into this place. i notice now that i am dressed in robes, just like theirs, only mine are yellow with a red sash. i try to look for someone else in yellow robes, and i feel sure that there must be another or others, but i cant see any. i try to look for another female, but all i can see are men. i wonder about the significance of the yellow robes. is it because i am a female? is it to mark me as a visitor? an apprentice? an outsider? i don't know.
i notice that the man who brought me just left me there to sit among the chanting monks. i stay quiet and wonder if someone will talk to me. it seems that no one here speaks, except for chanting. they gesture, but this is all.
somehow, a man reluctantly stands up and beckons to me. we go into another area of the temple and he makes some kind of gesture: he folds his ring and little fingers against his palm and holds his other two fingers straight, with his thumb out to the side, like an "L" shape. he turns his palm up and draws the outer blade of his hand against his hara. he seems to be trying to show me something about this area. he gestures towards me and then i can see / feel a glowing center in my own hara. he spins it somehow so that it rotates like a glowing green orb....

i have to go back.
